Some inspection challenges cannot be resolved by deploying a more sensitive probe or a faster scanner. The geometry is inaccessible. The asset is operating above safe entry temperatures. The component is inside a confined space, suspended at height, or embedded within a structure that defies standard scanning access. These are the inspections Altair Engineering Inspection is built for.
Specialised Inspection is not a premium tier bolted onto a conventional inspection programme. It is the correct technical response to an inspection requirement that conventional methods cannot meet — whether the constraint is access, temperature, geometry, material type, or the level of characterisation data the asset integrity decision requires.
The techniques in this portfolio — 3D laser scanning, drone-mounted UTG, immersion ultrasonic scanning, automated and semi-automated robotic arm UT, inline inspection pigging, robotic NDT crawlers, and high-temperature in-service UT — operate on different physical principles and deliver different categories of inspection intelligence than conventional NDT can provide.
At Altair Engineering Inspection, each of these techniques is backed by certified personnel, purpose-built equipment, written and qualified inspection procedures, and a track record of deployment on real, high-consequence assets. We do not list capabilities we cannot field. When a project requires a technique or a procedure that has not previously been qualified for your specific asset, we have the Level 3 expertise to develop and qualify it.
